  • Registration Requirements

    Registered with the Rectorat de Paris (education authority) and the Professional Training authorities, recognized by Ministry of Education and by UNESCO , PERL teaches French as a Foreign Language to adults from all over the world. PERL also provides an opening onto French and Parisian culture.

    Upon registration, students must be 18 years old up; they must also have an insurance which is valid on the French territory.

    Any group or student who is less than 18 years old (14 to 18), must include the following items with the Registration Form: parental consent, including details of the person to contact in case of emergency, hours when the child is allowed to go out, a statement authorising medical treatments and details of the insurance subscribed by the parents for these trips.

    Validation
    Registration will be deemed as valid only upon reception of the completed Registration Form and the payment of 60% of the full amount.

  • Accommodation

    Beware: if the chosen accomodation is not available, PERL can offer you other options. The price of accomodation may change during the year.

    Before the stay
    An administrative fee of €65 for the reservation of accommodation is due at the time of registration. This is not refundable in case of cancellation (regardless of the reason for cancelling).

    During the stay
    Should the student request a change in the type of accommodation, during the stay, an additional administrative fee of €50 will be due.

    Other Circumstances
    Should the student request accommodation services via PERL Language School after their arrival, he/she will incur an administrative fee of €100.

    Cancellation: less than 3 weeks before the arrival date, no refund will be granted.

  • Pre-Registration Certificate

    The student will receive by post (e-mail or fax upon request) a pre-registration certificate and an invoice showing the paid amount as well as the amount that may be due upon arrival at PERL School. A registration certificate is also provided as soon as the invoice has been paid in full.

  • Visa

    The students need a pre-registration certificate (or an invitation letter) to obtain a long-term visa (please contact the French Embassy if needed). This will be delivered upon reception of the completed registration form and the payment of 60% of the invoice.

  • Cancellation Policy

    Declined Visa
    In case of the Visa being declined, PERL will reimburse the total sum paid by the student, less €50 administrative fee and €31 bank charges upon presentation of the original copy of the refusal by the French Embassy or Consulate. Refunds will only be paid by bank transfer. Only original copies of documents are accepted. Photocopies or other types of copies will not be accepted.

    Medical or Professional Reasons
    Should the student be unable to travel for medical or professional reasons, we will be able to postpone the stay for a maximum of 12 months upon receipt of an original medical or employer certificate.

    Other reasons for cancelation
    As long as the student cancels at least 2 weeks before arrival, PERL will reimburse the total amount paid, less € 320 for cancellation fees.
    After this two weeks period, no refund will be authorised. No refund will be granted in the case of cancellation of accommodation.

    Cancelation made by PERL School
    The full deposit will be refunded in the event of PERL School having to cancel courses or accommodation.

  • Lateness To avoid classes from being interrupted, students who arrive more than 20 minutes late are not permitted to join the class until after the break. Only in the event of outstanding circumstances, will the management give special permission for the student to join the class.

  • Absences/ Interruptions once the Course has started

    Principle
    Those who enrol at PERL are expected to participate in the coursework and to respect the School’s Rules and Regulations.

    Absences
    In case of class absences (with the exception of excused absences due to medical reasons between 1 to 4 weeks and upon presentation of a medical certificate), we will not give any refund or credit for the missed classes.

    Interruptions
    The student will not be given any refund or credit for classes missed should he/she discontinue or interrupt their stay or course from their own initiative. However, the management can allow exceptions to be made when the student gives sufficient notice: at least one week before the absence which is not to exceed one month.

    In case of interruptions due to medical reasons and upon presentation of a medical certificate, we will be able to postpone any missed classes to a later date, which should be within a maximum of 12 months. No refund will be granted in this case.

  • Discipline

    PERL Language School reserves the right to refuse and/or remove any student whose behaviour is deemed unacceptable in accordance with normal social rules.

  • Personal Expenses

    PERL Language School does not cover personal expenses/needs incurred by students other than those paid for and clearly stated on the invoice.

  • Use of Student Image

    Unless the student advises otherwise, PERL Language School is authorised to use any image taken by our staff during school activities.

  • Complaints

  • Payments

    The student or his/her representative shall pay 60% of the total amount upon registration. The remaining shall be paid before the student’s arrival.
